Nellie thinks I should publish the journal I wrote from the time she was born to around the time she was 10. So I’ll transcribe it here – probably starting in September when she heads off to Bennington. Whatever its merits (or demerits) it was written to her with ultimately indescribable love and the hope that some of what I’ve wished for (and searched for) in my own life would be there for her if she ever needs it. And if anyone else finds something in it of worth – all to the good.
